Though original construction commenced the week before the 1929 stock-market crash, Bishop Terrace survives at 835 N. Bishop Ave. as Dallas’ most faithfully restored apartment house of its time. Good Space took pains to save worn hardwood floors, wavy-glass windows, and plaster walls, but underneath its historic veneer, Bishop Terrace is fully updated with high-efficiency air-conditioning, a complete appliance package, and controlled access to parking and courtyards. The 16 one-bedroom apartments sit on a third of an acre of landscaped grounds, which are both protected from and open to pedestrian-oriented Bishop Avenue. The human scale of the building means neighbors know one another well enough to host barbecues and yard sales.
Good Space is unable to accommodate smokers or pets at this property.
